Mia earned her bachelor’s degree from Temple University, where she enjoyed participating in a semester abroad at Temple’s Rome campus. During her senior year, Mia her legal career working for the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia where her in-court experience started as a courtroom scheduler for the criminal division. Upon graduation she was hired as a Court Clerk, where she spent many years working in the Drug Treatment Court Program, a diversionary program focusing on drug counseling and treatment of defendants facing certain low-level drug offenses. Her daily exposure to the judicial system, its judges, advocates, and litigants was instrumental in her desire to attend law school.

 

Mia attended Delaware Law School while working full-time for the Philadelphia Court system. While at Delaware, she was a member of the Women’s Law Caucus and completed internships with the National Lawyers Guild’s New Jersey & Delaware Chapter and the Delaware Community Reinvestment Action Council (DCRAC). She participated in a summer semester at Temple Law’s Rome campus where she studied European Union Law and International Law.
